A Time & Place In Appalachia Living

Food is only part of the story.

Here you'll find a look inside professional kitchens—the food, the people, the systems, the challenges, and the small things that can make a big difference.

Written from the perspective of a chef who has spent decades working in kitchens ranging from Michelin-starred restaurants to mom-and-pop operations, and who is still learning every day.

The kitchen is where all of these things meet—and that is what this journal is about: the work, the craft, the people, and the systems behind good food.

Quick & Effective Shoulder & Upper Chest Workout

HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU ALL!  IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL RAINY, FOGGY DAY HERE ON THE MOUNTAIN.  THE DUMBBELLS WERE A LITTLE DAMP TONIGHT AS THE MIST HAS BEEN CREEPING THROUGH THE SLATS ON THE SHED ALL DAY, BUT THAT'S OK.  I TOOK LAST NIGHT OFF FROM THE EXERCISE FUN.  THEY SAY THAT A RECOVER DAY OR EVEN TWO IS HEALTHY.  THEY ARE PROBABLY RIGHT, BUT IT DOESN'T FEEL THAT WAY.  ANYWAY, WE ARE BACK ON TONIGHT.  3 EXERCISES, 4 SETS OF 10 REPS.  NOTHING CRAZY.  VERY APPROACHABLE AND EFFECTIVE.  I DO HAVE TO APOLOGIZE AS I DON'T KNOW THE NAME OF MOST OF THESE EXERCISES.  CHECK IT OUT, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!  HAVE A GREAT WEEK YALL!
